When did they start doing this? I have been an XM Satellite Radio customer for a couple years and just recently started hearing commercials on the music stations that used to all be commerical free.

You'll only get commercials on the music stations XM gets from syndicators or rebroadcasts from other sources (Casey Kasem etc.) The stations that XM originates are still commercial free.

Yup... the radio industry is a freakin sham... you're getting ripped off basically. If I'm gonna pay for radio, there better not be a singe commercial on it.... They tried to advertise satellite as "commercial free" basically knowing commercials were going to happen eventually, just like on cable television.

Yup, that why you need to have Sirius instead! My husband has XM in his truck, and I've heard some commercials on there. I have Sirius in my car, and I have to say, I like it a lot better.
