We have 3 computers on one router - the other computers have internet just fine. so it's obviously my computer. i restarted the router. still didnt help. i tried to go to ipconfig/release then /renew and it wont work. Just says that no 'media is connected'. i also tried to just let windows 'repair' it and it got stuck on 'renew ip address' and just said it couldn't do it.

Any help would be MUCHLY appreciated!!!!!

Are you wireless or wired.

The message "Just says that no 'media is connected'." says simply, you don't have a cable attached, or that your wireless card has been disabled (turned off) which on many laptops is highly possible since the switches are different and hidden on many of them.

Check the actual cable or your wireless card. Check your network card drivers. Check to be sure the adapter is enabled!

ADDED
Go to the control panel, network connections, Find Your Wireless adapter (it should show there) Right Click on it.
In the list that appears if the word "ENABLE" shows click on it to re-enable the adapter!
If the work "Disable" shows then the adapter is indeed enabled and should be able to connect.
If that isn't the issue then the adapter driver or the card has gone bad! Try reloading the driver, if that fails, get a new card.

Just to add what Tracy said, also check to make sure that the device is working properly. This can be checked in the Device Manager.
