I always try to give my husband fair warning at least before I do anything drastic. I know he likes it long and it is my best feature, so I don't want to change my appearance in a way that might make me less attractive to him.
He is quite careful about trying to look & dress to please me as well, lest you think I'm being oppressed in any way. He is in the military, so he doesn't have a whole lot of leeway on hairstyle, but he does respect my wishes/opinion on other details.
That said, I don't know why there should be a law to that effect--it is a common sense piddly detail that is best worked out within a healthy marital relationship.

Yeah there's a law in Oklahoma that says you can't molest butterflies. I'd like to see Michael Jackson try. He'd find a way.
As for your situation, at least ask your husband what hairstyle would look good on you. That is, if it's something that's totally different from what you have now. If it's just a length cut/dead ends cut, then no, give him a surprize.

That is complete bullcrap. A woman's or a man's body hair is their property only. That's akin to saying a person can be a slave and I'm pretty sure we all left that behind a long time ago. To make this long answer simple; No. A woman shouldn't need her husband's permission.

So much for land of the free anymore? I think a law is over the top, though i do this a woman should still try to plese her husband as if they was dating why should anything change during marriage, though i think a man should go out his way to make his wife happy in return, as far as hair goes, i am growing an afro so i can get corn rows, my wife hates it, (as an afro, not corn rows)though she knows it makes me happy, she wants to cut her hair though i prefer it long, so shes holding bad from famous hair for me. I dont think it should be law she does, just a decision one has the right to make for ones self.

Yeah, there are all sorts of stupid laws on the books.
In Texas you can go to jail for carrying wirecutters in your pockets.
In Arizona, it is illegal to hunt camels.
In the news recently was some goofy British laws such as it is legal to kill a scottsman as long as the scottsman is within the city walls and it armed with a bow.

No, you shouldn't have to require his permission. It's your hair. However, It would be a good idea to at least warn him that you will be cutting your hair, as it could very well turn him off it you do. It's whatever makes you happy though.

When you make a decision to move anywhere you should get familiar with the laws, if you don't agree with them you should consider moving to somewhere else, they don't make sense to you and maybe to nobody but the law is there and you have a choice.
I'm not saying it's right or wrong but just giving you the most honest answer.

The law was enacted, I suppose, around trhe 1920s maybe when flappers cut all their hair off and that was considered scandalous... I suppose, -in a marriage-, it is only fair to talk it out a little, before chopping a beautiful mane of hair off. Only fair to a spouse I'd say....

There is also a law in Michigan that requires the city hall to pay 10cents for each rats head brought to their office.
An enterprising kid could make some money if he hangs around the fast food places and sets some traps..........
