well..maybe evolution is more accurate :)

But I think that they are very interesting and that they are already influencing things for the good in the US and are doing more and more. I'm sure that they will be a serious part of the business world and affect the economy. And not just in the US.

And like my question suggests..they are doing it quietly. I don't think that many people are even aware of them as a trend. I picked up on them just recently myself.

I don't really want to call it a feminist thing even though a Chicana entrepreneur is feminist and rad where it counts in real life. I think that the change is more wide.

What do you think?

I believe your right.
I am currently working on a non-profit organization for recycling in Los Angeles. I think its gonna be really big, hopefully it is. Also, i'm working on getting my U.S customs border patrol broker(cbp) liscence for Air and ocean import. The U.S is the biggest importer in the world.
Chicana's are always stereotyped as dumb and pregnant as teens. I'm 19, in college, I have no kids, and a good job.
I think that there is a lot more Chicana's breaking away from that stereotype.

Many of the Chicanas, that were in the movement in my time were very young and getting an education, 5 that I knew went on to be lawyers ,as well as one Chicano. I am glad to hear they are expanding into other fields. Their role, always was a vital one within the movement.

Probably, as American or Mexican born women break the traditional roles as Mothers and homemakers, this trend is inevitable. I really think it reflects more, the changes in traditional family structures and better education for women of color here in the states.

Anyone who takes charge of their life while, at the same time, proving the ability of their race or gender is good in my book.
