Where is your evidence that conservatives believe that? It is more likely Dimocrats will squander our tax dollars. They support funding of La Raza and other left wing, anti-American groups. We should demand that our govt balance the budget, and not create any new spending programs. Our economy is on the verge of recession, so Congress must act responsibly. But they are not, they just passed another pork-laden water bill. Damn those jerks!

You will not find one true conservative that fits your straw man argument. True conservatives promote smaller government and less spending. What happened with the last Republican Congress should have been a wake up call to quit the outrageous spending and quit with the earmarks. Evidently the Democrats did not heed the lesson either and it is why the Democratic controlled congress enjoys the lowest rating of any congress that has ever been. Contrary to popular belief, the last election was not a mandate on Iraq. It was a mandate on corruption in government. It was the number 1 concern of people that actually voted. Iraq was number 4.

NeoCons believe in increased spending. These are NeoCons, not Conservatives. The Conservative party hasn't changed their spending philosphy in over a hundred years. As for why the NeoCons believe this, like Eisenhower said: Its all about the military industrial complex.
