He is not only a handsome, witty and brave action star but his story is appealing to the every man. He stands for the ideal of equality and fairness. He fights against a curropt governmental system that steals from the poor to line the pocket of the rich (sound like any political system you may have heard of today?). He also displays a level of independence that people love, he's not afraid to buck the system and live life on by his rules.
Amazingly his story is often repeated throughout history. Look at the stories of William Wallace or Jesse James.

Robin Hood's main theme is about morality. Morality is doing the right thing even though it may not make sense or be the decision others would make. Robin Hood captures that and puts it into a clever story.

because it appeals to a basic human desire or emotion...Fairness ...everyone loves a hero who makes life fair for people. plus 90% of people are NOT in the rich elite, and they all feel that the rich elite have cheated or wronged them in some way. So Robin hood is a fantasy of the majority of people getting even for wrongs they believe have happened to them in their lives.

those are 2 of my favorites :D properly as Eddie Izzard might say, they're the sole myths/legends that Britain had and Hollywood took it and bastardized them. consequently, they're constantly made into video clips, spinning on the unique tale (Robin Hood: men in Tights is SUPERFANTABULOUS!~) yet yeah i think of the reality that they are well-known in the media (television, video clips, etc) might join it; like Sherlock Holmes. That became into made right into a clean action picture those days too. they're performs, books, memories, television sequence' and films approximately all of those. it is classics - like reading the Iliad or the Odyssey for college. they're going to on no account get previous. they're undying. i'm for my area engaged on the two my very own variations of King Arthur (properly it is in keeping with it) and Robin Hood (he's not who you think of *he* is *hinthint*) So, yeah, it incredibly is oftentimes a stable source of fantasy, journey and action - and the romance of King Arthur receives a great form of folk to boot ^_^
