Osama is still alive and our borders and ports aren't secure. It's just a matter of time people.

Plus look at the government's horribly slow response to hurricane Katrina.

Does that not just show you how unprepared our government is for another terrorist attack of that magnitude?

The money spent on Iraq should've been spent on our security at home and on the borders.

Osama is hiding in a cave and has no ability to influence events. His organization has been destroyed with virtually all of his trained people killed either in Afghanistan or Iraq.

Since 9/11 we have seized the initiative on the war on terror and as a result are fighting Islamic terrorism on battlefields of our own choosing.

I was part of the response to hurricane Katrina and feel that the belief that the response was 'horribly slow' is a result of the news media failing to inform you of the whole story. (Such as: "Exactly how was this help supposed to get there with no roads or functioning airports?")

Assuming we do not get a Democrat in the White House - I feel that OBL will remain unable to launch intercontinental attacks in the foreseeable future. (Note that AQ has not been able to conduct international operations since 2002.)

I agree with you in part and you are obviously not well informed on the other.

Osama tunrs out to be a figure head only and is not really important to capture (though we are trying). Al-Qaeda is run by others.

The Federal Government responded right on time with Katrina, they can not come into play until requested by the local and state governments, it's not their roll untill such request is made. The direliction of duty and response clearly lies with the local government and the Govenor of LA. Stop blaming Bush!

A terroist attack? Yep I believe it will happen again. Our borders need to be secured!

Of what magnitude??? Do you mean a terrorist attack of the magnitude of 9/11 or an attack of the magnitude of Hurricane Katrina?
The possibility of an attack is dependent upon where and when as well as who attempts it.

Here we go again with Katrina. The devestation in the aftermath of Katrina was caused by local and state government's failure to act, combined with rampant lawlessness in the local community. It's interesting that the wildfires in San Diego, which destroyed thousands of homes, didn't result in cries of "The federal government did nothing for us!" , nor did they result in wholesale looting and murder. That's because the federal government wasn't needed or wanted in San Diego. Those people took care of themselves and each other. They were not burdened with a chronic entitlement mentality, nor did they behave like animals to their neighbors. We've done a pretty good job of keeping the terrorists from attacking our shores again, haven't we? End of story.

In order to be prepared we need to have good leadership. For the last 7 years we have had a buffoon in the white house with the mind of a 10 year old missing a chromosome, and has brought this country to its knees. Not until Hillary gets into the WH will anything change.

If Congressional Dems and the ACLU weren't constantly attacking--and exposing--all of America's safeguards, our chances would be better.
