Contrary to many "bush derangement syndromed" Y!A responder's opinions, he is the president, and not a dictator or king. You all will see, when power is peacefully transferred to the newly elected president...without all the childish games that took place when the clinista's left office in 2001.

It is possible Bush will delay the elections indefinitely especially if he thinks the Republicans may lose the election. He is still praising Musharraf; maybe he is taking lessons from him too.

I few years ago I would have thought this was a real tin foil hat question, and I would never have given this type of an answer.

This article is from the ultra conservative World New Daily:

"President Bush, without so much as issuing a press statement, on May 9 signed a directive that granted near dictatorial powers to the office of the president in the event of a national emergency declared by the president."

No, that will be decided for him. Come 12:01pm est on January 20 2009, he will no longer be the President of the United States, and the Marines who now guard him with their lives will not hesitate to use force against him if it became necessary. Our troops are loyal to the United States.

Hopefully not. That would leave the country without a President for the first three weeks of 2009.

I'd prefer he wait until Inauguration Day myself.

He will not only turn over the White House to the new President, but he will leave the furniture and silverware.

He's an elected official. He has no choice. He can leave, or be dragged out kicking and screaming. Either way, we'll be rid of his incompetence at last.

Hillary will get herself a crown even when she loses. Watch out for that one.
