This is a tough question. I think many Western countries (the UK, US, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, Western Europe and some Caribbean countries) have the most freedom, on the surface of things.

However, it gets more complicated. You have the US, where the media was banned from taking photos of soldiers' coffins. You have the UK, where we are being bullied by the Nanny State and Health and Safety Brigade. Breaches of freedom can take many forms.

In all the countries following democratic form of government confers freedom to its citizens.
India is the largest democratic country in the world declaring unlimited and uncontrolled freedom to the citizens.
If any doubt;get a copy of the Indian constitution read and enjoy the freedom it confers.

All democracies with varying degrees.
Even when in democracies there is a threat to freedom, it is from other goondagiri in power(who have come to power in the first place due to freedom) and not any threat from the state.

There's lots. How can Americans say they are a country with the most freedom when it incarcerates untried people in Guatanamo Bay and practices rendition to other countries in order to have them tortured.Oh I know frankly you just don't give a damn that innocent people might be suffering just so you can have your freedom.Freedom of speech?Yeah with someone else listening in on the line!Don't make me laugh.Desmond Tutu gave a speech at a University in America which the Zionist Jewish organisation objected to. The Professor who invited him was sacked!Go figure.

I've been to the Republic of Korea, Kygyzstan, Afghanistan, United Kingdom, the Republic of Ireland, Germany and Austria. Honestly the USA is still the best thing going as far as freedoms are concerned. We (the US) just can't play soccer or brew large quanities of good beer.
