I want a good doctor with experience who will listen to me, realizing I have some knowledge of biology and physiology. Don't talk down to me. I don't care about the sex of the doctor (except gynecologist who should be a female) and my PCP is also female (but I don't think she is very good). My experience has been so far that all surgeons I have had have been male, some not all that good and a few excellent. The best anesthesiologist I ever had was a woman. Doctors and nurses have seen it all. I want someone who is caring and competent.
