I THINK there are a couple of states....Alaska rings a bell, but I'm not positive. Just remember that even if the state is OK with it the FEDS are not. Check on-line for the rules where you live.

Not in the US. Perhaps elsewhere.

But you might not run into very serious legal trouble so long as you didn't let the plants get very large and made sure that you clipped any flowers before they go to seed. In such an instance you could make a claim that you were in possession of an amount under the minimum for a misdemeanor offense-- with no intent to grow it for sale.
Before entering into such an enterprise, though, it would be wise to check your local and state laws regarding possession of marijuana.
