Because it would not work -- too many cultural, linguistic and regional differences.

Because the world is a vastly different place for a start. One of the biggest examples is perhaps the west and the middle east; our cultures, philosophy's and ideologys are so fundamentally opposed there is no way we could ever be united under one government. But another huge example is the U.N, all these countries spending years and years arguing, backstabbing, debating useless human rights policies, forming committee after committee, and then another committee to commit to a decision on the findings of the other committees, and umming and arring over what title they should give the new committee. (Sorry am I being overly sarcastic?) Can you imagine the political infighting and beauracracy that would come with something so huge? Nothing would ever get done! Its bad enough now!

That is like asking why don't more people read and worship the Satanic bible

A One World Government only benefits those who have bottomless bank accounts

Why would the average human being want to be controlled and monitored 24/7 by a few Elite who would run the World their way

That is insane

Not to mention that to achieve it globally they would have to murder 75% of the World population

That would make Nazi Germany look like a picnic planner

Too many differences with culture, religion, finance & life styles, for a World government to work. I am a woman, in some cultures I would not have the same rights as a man, and I think that is wrong, how would you over come this?! That's only one argument.

Losing their countries sovereignty for one thing and possibly losing the freedoms you now enjoy simply because the rest of the world doesn't agree that you should have them because of the common good of all. The majority of peoples on the earth have absolutely no idea about living within a free society and most leaders see it as a threat to their own well being, so democracy as you know it would cease to exist as would your way of living, your natural resources, your rights etc. When you think of it in relation to the number of peoples on the earth those who live in a democracy are privileged. In a World Government I have no doubt you would lose all that.

Because people don't trust those who aren't from the same country as them.
Humans, by nature, always think someone is out to get them and that everyone ELSE is trying to take over the planet.
We can't even get the UN to work properly.
Trying to set up a "world government" is nothing but a fairytale sentiment.

it would be a good 20 years from the time it was agreed to get all the stealing nest feathering. the bribes, the slaughter of any third world nation that got in the way. then theres the media controle deal.....world chaos would be the order of the day......to get an example of how it would be. take a gang of thieves into a super store. tell them no one is watching them and security isnt there yet. then walk around with them and try to hold down a conversation about world affairs.

Because we do not need the world government. What we need is the world peace and that can be achieved without any world government.

Can you tell us how we could benefit from the world government?

I agree with the concept that it would help to end wars and stop human rights abuses...

But nothing more can be done that the United Nations cannot do already.

Also, if that one government went down... as a corrupt dictatorship... then that takes the whole world down, doesn't it.

A nice concept at heart -- but so is communism, and they wouldn't work.

People are feeling a loss of identity. Also it appears that this new world order is governed by few, without any regard for the many and for their own profit and not ours.
