David Miliband a member of parliment in England has suggested that Africa and Russia be admitted as part of the European Union in a bid to "extend stability"

Is this guy out of his tiny mind? Africa and Russia were not considered part of Europe when i went to school. Are these public school boys, who become politicians really that stupid? If i was David Milibands father, then i would be asking for a full refund and compensation from the school that he attended.

He goes on to compound his stupidity with this non statement, Mr Miliband urged the EU to use "soft and hard power"

Does Mr Miliband live in La La Land?

Well, it is a complete mystery to me also why Israel takes part in everything European. It is not that I object or... don't object. I am just puzzled why Israel is in the European Groups in the World Cup in football, takes part in the European Championships of football, takes part in the Miss Europe beauty competitions, takes part in the Eurovision Song Contest which is only for Europeans and Israel has apparently recently applied to become a member of the EU. And for those who have 'explained' it in the past by saying that "the Eurovision Song Contest is open to every country, then tell me why Israel is the only country that has been granted permission to take part !?
So it is not that these competitions are open to 'every country' ---it is that only Israel is given permission to take part.
Last I heard, as I said, Israel has "applied to become a member of the European Union". How can anyone in Europe possibly agree to have Israel take part in a Union of European countries , a Union whose PRIME FUNCTION is, or must be, to take care of, to look after, Europe's interests ?? That puzzles me -- but does not surprise me..

Asking that query is a useless ringer for asking someone in the experience that they'd choose a poke interior the interest or a kick interior the testicles. Of both, Ed Miliband's labour look a darn sight better so some distance than Bliar's labour were - so on that foundation i'd like labour to the tories - yet extremely, i'd not get excitement from both of them.

He does sound as it he lives in Cloud Cuckoo Land. It's bad enough that the EU has admitted countries like Romania despite their appalling treatment of orphaned children and the disabled without admitting countries who have a history of civial war, human rights atrocities and are not exactly democratic. They need to sort out their issues before being allowed into the EU. Joining the EU isn't going to solve their problems. If anything, it could make things worse.

When they have dealt with these issues, then they can take the UK's place and we should be given out ticket out!

Technically none of the documented criteria for joining the EU actually include geography. If there are stable democratic countries with things to contribute to the EU then why not? But many countries do have a lot of hoops to jump through even before we start considering them- Russia is absolutely unthinkable at the moment and at least until that nasty piece of work Putin dies...

It is a necessary qualification for becoming an MP, one has to show idiocy and incompetence in every direction in order to be considered a candidate as an MP.David Miliband and his brother Ed have demonstrated their ability in this regard very ably.

I do not know what school you went to but west of the Urals was always considered to be the European part of Russia and to the east the Asian part of Russia.

Yeah this was posted earlier. They're jumping the gun without a referendum to decide if WE wanna be part of the EU in the first damn place.

EDIT: LEE...what? Brown promised another referendum among the election fervour this year, he still hasn't come through. Catch up on your news. And yes EU reform treaty = do we still want in.

Milliband is one of the many Labour MPs who has never worked outside the political arena. Their concepts are born of conventional Socialist centralising, patronising, the-state-knows-best dogma and a breathtaking ignorance of the real world.
Apart from the Tartan Mafia, Milliband and the aptly named Balls represent the next generation of New Labour - God help us if we have a fourth brain storm and re-elect this self-serving and rancid crew of no-marks.
