Of the value resorts, All-Star Music tends to be popular with adults. Pop Century is the the newest value resort but the theming is definately geared towards kids.
Of the moderates, Coronado Springs is popular with adults and is the Disney convention resort. Be forewarned that this resort does not participate in the Disney Dining Plan. A good second choice would be Port Orleans Riverside - the boat to Downtown Disney is a nice choice. Magnolia Terrace is a good building within Port Orleans Riverside for good access without paying for preferred rooms.
The Animal Kingdom is a deluxe resort and carries a deluxe price but the rooms that don't overlook the Savannah can be surprisingly affordable some times. You still get to enjoy the deluxe amenities.

I understand what you mean. I am planning a trip for me and my bf (no kids). First I would say to check out the www.disneyworld.com website as they have info and visuals on every resort. See what appeals to your tastes.
I chose the Coronado Springs hotel because it is geared more towards adults. It's the only of the moderates that features a convention center, so it also has a few amenities that the other moderates don't have. It has a salon, health club, and WiFi. It's also said to be quieter since it is geared more toward adults. The grounds are beautiful, and nothing is more romantic looking out onto the water from one of the bridges or gazebos.
I don't know what the other member was talking about when he stated that Coronado doesn't participate in the dining plan. I am looking at the list of locations where you can use the plan, and the convenience store, Maya grill, Pepper market, and Siestas Cantina are all listed. You might want to ask when you book to make sure.
Where ever you choose, have an amazing vacation!!!

I guess it is your definition of not too pricey..it is your Wedding Anniversary so really you should avoid the “Value” resorts ALL-Stars and Pop, as those two resorts are also the home of lots of children and teens hyped up on caffeine and sugar running up and down your hall at 12:30 AM. I think you should step up into a Moderate Resort, my favorite is Coronado Springs, but I hear Carribean Beach and the New Orleans themed resort are nice also!! If money is no object I like the Polynesian and Animal Kingdom Lodge

Try the Pop Century resort. Its the same price as the All-Star resorts, but has less of a cartoon feel to it (if that's what you are trying to avoid). I am 35 and I love all the resorts (even though I haven't stayed at them!). I think part of the "Disney" experience is the fun hotels!

Port Orleans, French Quarter- it's the smallest resort, very quaint and romantic. We stayed there when we got engaged and will be returning for our third stay in January. It's a moderate resort, so isn't as pricey as the deluxe ones.
I LOVE this resort. Love it.

You should look at the Swan or the Dolphin. They are on Disney property, in EPCOT, but are not Disney hotels. They sometimes run great on line specials.
