they fired Ty Willingham after just two seasons. this is Charlie Weiss's 3rd season. the worst season in notre dame history. but charlie's job isnt in jeopardy according to the scholl athletic director. hey, at least Ty beat navy. this just further proves that racism isnt just a conspiracy theory.

Ty had a better winner record than Charlie does now, Charlie won with Ty's players. How could any parent send their kid to ND know it is so blatantly racist?

Race has nothing to do with it. Willingham couldn't recruit anyone; look at the team now. It's not Weiss's fault he doesn't have any true athletes to work with. For his last two years Willingham recruited 2 four star and five star players each year. Weiss already has 15 signed for next year. Give Weiss time to get his recruits into place, and they will be back. Change coaches now and Notre Dame will be hurt for a long time. Personally, I am not a Notre Dame fan. I like Charlie Weiss.

It's hard to answer a question when you a) don't know the facts. Willingham coached ND for 3 years, not 2 and b) you and many other idiots still do not know how to spell Charlie Weis' name. It is W-e-i-s, not W-e-i-s-s. Oh, and your question is really moronic. If ND was blatantly racist as you claim, why would they even hire Ty Willingham to begin with? Why don't you check and see how many NCAA D-1 schools have ever even had a black coach and then get back to me. Willingham is obviously not a good coach. Check his record in two seasons at Washington.

of course racism isn't a conspiracy theory, and i do believe that because willingham was the school's first black coach that he was not given as much leeway as perhaps another coach might have, but trying to make a point about racism through sports doesn't ring as loud to people as it would if you had pointed out another example in a more serious and important arena...also, charlie weis staying at nd is about the fact that his buyout is massive, and even a school with a budget like notre dame would take a serious hit

Oh God, here we go again. Good thing I have this apology handy..."I am sorry about what the white people did to the black people hundreds of years before I was born. I do not agree with it, and I think that it is was very wrong. I would hope you would accept this apology. But know this, you have not ever had to experience the racism that your ancestors did before you. You have it made and you don't even know it. The world is an apple just waiting for you to take a big bite. Quit beating a dead horse. People fail because they do not do the things needed to succeed, not because "The Man is Holding You back" I am white, and I don't always get what I want*gasp*, but I don't try to point the finger at anyone else but myself. So take your race card and grow up. Get an education, and if you have one already, use it for Gods sake. Stop crying about old stuff, put the past behind you, and drive on.

I think it's just extremely stupid planning on ND's part - I think any school is ridiculous to fire a coach before his first recruiting class makes it to senior year. ND thought that because they were Notre Dame, they should be playing for a national championship every year, and anything else isn't good enough. So they landed the biggest name coach with the best credentials available, and he happens to be worse.

They are racist for being one of the handful of teams that have actually hired a black coach? Do they have to replace a black coach with a black coach?

It's difficult to debate someone who doesn't even have the facts right. Do some research before you post.

I think if Notre Dame was racist, then the black man wouldn't have gotten the job.

PS: Idiot.

While I agree with you,I have to say that Charlie Weiss got himself a big contract worth millions,so now Notre Dame are stuck with him, otherwise he would also gotten his pink slip
