go into your Control Panel | Network Connections | choose your wireless connection. right click on it and go to properties. there should be a checkbox at the top that says "let windows manage my wireless connection. then let it restart and go back into your wireless connection and choose the proper network with your password.
if that box was not available for an option. make sure that you have entered the ssid and password with the proper encryption properly.
ussuallythe issue is that your software that you may have installed with your pc card is trying to take over the connection and so is windows and it creates a struggle.
HTH!

Its difficult by your description if the Wireless connection is not connecting or the hard wired is not... If it is the wireless, I think it could be a few factors. Signal strength. A few things can affect this. Distance to the router, objects (walls, etc) in between the wifi enabled PC and the router and interferance (other routers or rf devices in your area interferring). Also it could be your configuration. It could also be that Windows Zero Configuration service (WZC) has stopped. For some reason, sometimes this service will crash and has to be restarted. DCHP could be misconfigured. All of these things can affect your connection (plus others like WEP settings, etc..) I suggest calling a Lynksys tech to walk you through a few of these things and verify that everything is workign the way it should. If so, it could be a bad router. Hope this helps.

First power off your router for 30 secs then power back on and try again. If this still fails, check you have entered any security keys correctly (WEP/WPA etc) using either windows to manage the connection or the software provided with the router. Also check your firewall does not conflict with router. You may also have a control panel for your router, if you still aren't successful have a look at that and see what you can change. I'm not familiar with the Linksys router so can't be more specific sorry.
Good luck.

On the computer that's using the PCI card, make sure you're connected to the correct wireless router. First setup the wireless router with a unique SSID. Then make sure that the PCI card is connected to that SSID. If it's connecting and not going online, make sure that you're getting an IP address. ie. 192.168.x.x If it is getting an IP address, try turning off your firewall. ie. Windows Firewall, Norton Internet Security temporaly to see if it's the firewall that's obstructing your connection.

You need to enable Internet for the wireless connection on the router. It is disabled by default.

Make sure to configure the wireless router with the pci card completely but before you do that unplug the router and modem to recycle the power and see if that works.
