The carmel coloring, sugar, and caffiene will defintely hurt the babies internal organs....and the sugar will affect their adult teeth.
Not to mention the fact that the majority of our kids are obese in the US!

Caffeine does irritate the bladder, and more some people than others. I do not believe that it damages the bladder however. I can assure you that the immense amount of sugar in soda can have a detrimental affect on a baby's teeth however, and strongly urge all parents to not give an infant soda... Or maybe just as a once every couple of weeks treat. Best of luck!

Why is the baby drinking soda. I wouldn't be worried about bladder problems I would be worried about a whole wide array fo problems.
That garbage isn't even good for adults.
Soda has too much sugar (An average 12-ounce can of soda contains around ten teaspoons of sugar! and it is not even natural sugar it is High fructose corn syrup which is chemically extracted and can not be metabolised by the body proper.HFCS in sweetened beverages is one of the main contributors to the epidemic of childhood obesity.),
Too much caffine (Caffeine causes a buzz to children's brains at a time in their development when many are already dubbed "hyperactive." The high the child gets from a jolt of caffeine is often followed by a low with consequent mood swings the rest of the day. )
and robs developing bones of calcium (around looking for a partner to pair up with chemically. Its favorite is calcium. Phosphate leaches calcium out of the child's growing bones, which need all the calcium they can get. It is estimated that a child can lose as much as 100 milligrams of calcium — more than ten percent of their daily needs — from one 12-ounce bottle of a fizzy drink. )

Probably with their bladder and kidneys. Carbonated drinks, especially soda are not good for anyone really. Babies should not be allowed to drink them at all. It's also not good for their teeth and with Americans being obese that doesn't help at all. At my house we don't even keep sodas. My kids drink milk, juice, and water. They are allowed a sprite occasionally when we are out to eat.

I've never thought about it. But my mom has been giving me pop in my bottle since I was 5 months old, now at 21 I am addicted to it and I have to wear mini pads everyday because I have a weak bladder. Not sure if they are connected though, all I can say is neither one of my children are drinking pop!

I don't see the connection between soda and the baby's bladder, but they can sure have problems with their blood sugar, and their development (if it has caffeine, and we're talking about A LOT of soda).

bladder?? what about headaches!! too much caffeine can become addicting - and when going through caffeine withdrawal they can develop migraine.
A baby shouldn't even be drinking 'too much' soda, maybe one sip but that's is - who is the boss anyways?.. ;)
