US is encouraging tribal and other Sunnis to form regional associations to counter al-Qaeda and build support for the Maliki government. Tribesmen and former insurgents who join are paid 600 dollars a month to fight al-Qaeda, and US forces have recruited thousands of men, who are given uniforms and paid 300 dollars a month to act as guards in the neighborhood.

The new alliances until fairly recently, fought US troops. By allying with Sunni insurgent groups to fight al-Qaeda, the US is unwittingly arming groups for possible sectarian conflicts in the future.

this is more to do with the forming of militias who will they hope will act as a bulwark against the inevitable Shiite insurgency once the US follows the orders of its Zionist supremacist masters and attacks Iran.

There's going to be civil war in Iraq, and you can take that to the bank. All the danger signs are there, the sides are gearing up and there's no stopping it. Where and when remains an issue, but probably in the south.

Al Queda was just a distraction for the warring sides.

nothing much...for 275 million dollars a day spent & dead americans in the Bush brain blast of 6 years ago.the only good news anyone cares about in Iraq now is more dead Terrorist.thats the good news.I think better news would be confirmation of good food & drink for all Iraq,s and nice safe living conditions made possible by our caring solders,,,,but lol,,,im crazy that cant be done,,,so says the good news..chow freepress
