In the UK it's illegal, plus you don't have to write it on your CV.
Also, it's not like in this day and age any parents are gonna complain.
We have 2-3 openly gay teachers in our school, and NONE of them receive any comments from kids or staff about it.
Infact, one of them is totally and completely ace haha. He's like a little gnome, he's hilarious :)!

Are you referring to an entire staff or just some people in the staff? Yes they do hire gays...sometimes intentionally, sometimes not. Heck....when I was young we definitely had gay PE teachers but it wasn't an issue. They were wonderful teachers who kept their sexual preferences away from the job. I'm more worried about straight teachers than I am gay.

They do. I mean nobody has to write on their resume what they do at home or on the weekends and with who they do it so theres no way the schools could know which teachers are and arent and even if they did that doesnt make them any less good of teachers does it?

We had a family member who was aggressively pursued by the lesbian gym teacher. Takes all kinds.

Well in my school in England , I have a lesbian teacher. She teaches R.E and she shaves her hair. Shes really nice so there you are !!

It would be criminal if they denied an applicant based on sexual orientation, religion, age, race or sex.
I had several gay teachers........their sexuality never interfered with their profession.

They can't not hire you b/c of that it is discrimination.
