Technically,which console is better in between the xbox 360 and the playstation 3?

I would say for right now, the 360 is better. In a few years though, there is potential for what happened to the ps2 in comparison to the original x-box to go on where the newer system winds up being better (ps3). The biggest thing that makes the 360 better right now though, regardless of games, is that there's options to have a much larger hard drive than that of the ps3. 120GB (360 elite) hard drive vs 80GB (max for right now ps3). Also the 360 elite is still $50 less than the 80 gig ps3.
Mostly when it comes down to the consoles though it becomes a personal preference between controller style and exclusive games. I'd say that at the moment, the 360 has the better deal.

All of my comments are for know. The scales could tip vary easily in the future.

Online Play: XBOX360
Hardware: PS3
Utility (as something other than a game counsel): PS3
Games: XBOX360
Graphics: Any any duel counsel game, the graphics will be equal. Once PS3 exclusive makers know what they are doing, PS3.
Cost: XBOX360
Controler: Personal opinion.
Backwards Compatability: PS3 (exception the 40GB version)

Unless you don't like shooters, racers, or sports games the XBOX360 is probably the better choice right now. In a lot of ways the PS3 hasn't really started as a system yet. It will need a year or two to really begin to show what it can do.

I own a PS3 myself, and am eagerly awaiting the 2008 games, which will open up quite a few big hype games that might actually live up to it.
