I am not a Patriots fan, but I thought it would be interesting to see what you thought....Personally, I feel that the 85 Pats can beat this years version pretty badly.

They did get blown out buy the Bears that year, But I feel that 85 Patriots team was much better than this one. I also feel the teams were better as group, than they are now

There QB's Tony Eason, and Steve Grogan
Only time will tell.

The Patriots were 11-5, The Jets were 11-5 and the Dolphins, were 12-4 that year...This year the division is horrible!!!!!

Well, considering the '85 Pats only made the playoffs via the wildcard and had to win games on the road at Okland and Miami just to make the Super Bowl, where they manged only a gift three points, I'd have to say this year's team is better.
Brady certainly gets the nod over Eason or Grogan. I think the '85 team's running backs were better with James, and maybe the offensive line with John Hannah. But I'd take Moss, Welker and Stallworth over MOrgan Stanley and his crew.
The current defense is also better. The '85 team didn't have much beyond Nelson and Tippett. And the coaching now is certainly better.
I vote for the '07 team

Are you kidding? The '85 Patriots weren't really all that good. They were fortunate to make it in a very weak AFC. The AFC then was basically what the NFC is now. There's a reason the Bears annihilated them. It wouldn't even be remotely close. It would be a total blowout in favor of the current Patriots team.....something along the lines of what the Bears did to them that year.

Now, the '85 BEARS against the current Patriots.....now THAT would be a hellified game to watch. I'd love to see that.....historic offense against historic defense....

definitely, i think of so. that may not to declare that the Giants did no longer should win and that they did no longer play an incredible game, because of fact they did, however the Pats are actual killer, even on their undesirable days. yet a great team has to have great sportsmanship and that they'd desire to understand a thank you to bow down with grace whilst they get crushed honest and sq. -- and that i do no longer think of that i can declare that the Pats know a thank you to try this. i'm no longer ashamed of the Pats dropping the finished Bowl this year because of fact they're a good team, yet i'm ashamed of having such boastful, overly-confident losers playing for brand spanking new England (i.e., Tom Brady).

Well if they played each other this year would win. But that's because over the years player have gotten bigger, stronger, faster, and smarter. It would be like a varsity high school team playing their JV team. They are the best team in the league this year and they weren't then anyway. In 1985 the 49ers beat the Dolphins 38-16 anyway.

This years team is the best patriots team that there has ever been. They have one of if not the best QB to ever play in the NFL, Tom Brady. He has all kinds of weapons to throw to that he never had before. They have a great defense. Unless Tom Brady gets hurt they are UNSTOPPABLE.

I think this years Pats are better than the 85 Bears. "The Fridge" Perry would never sack Tom Brady, Maybe he would have rushed for a 1 yard TD though. Hmm who's better McMahon or Brady?

Uh...The '85 version got blown out in the Super Bowl by the Bears...What do YOU think?...And they weren't headed for an undefeated season like this year's Patriots...

This years team is better at every single aspect of the game. Coaching, offense, defense, special teams. Everything.
