The thought of meat and especially having to eat it while I am pregnant makes me sick. Why is this?

Some things just don't sound good to us when we are pregnant. It's *very* important you get 80+ grams of protein a day, so if you aren't eating meat you need to get it from somewhere else.

A lot of women have some kind of food aversions while pregnant, and I have heard that meat is a major one. I am pretty sure that I am pregnant and have to wait another week to test, but I was at work last night (I work at Mc Donald's on graveyard shift so hubby can be home with our son) and when I pulled the pan out where we hold the meat for the double cheeseburgers the smell about made me sick, and that has never happened before.

Some pregnant women experience food aversions. This usually has to do with the fact that your sense of smell is stronger and certain scents make you sick. If you ate meat before you were pregnant, I'm sure it will seem appetizing to you again after you give birth -- or maybe even after the first trimester is over and your morning sickness subsides.

I also hated meat for awhile in my first trimester and part of my second but now I can eat it again. Your perfectly normal for feeling this way. Some people say its the baby figuring out what he likes and doesn't like but it should go away soon or at least after you give birth. Hope its sooner! I hated not being able to eat meat its so good. Good luck and congrats!

Meat is a very common thing that makes women nauseous when they're pregnant. Nothing to worry about. It will probably go away after a while.
I had the opposite problem. I absolutely could NOT eat vegetables. If someone even said the word "vegetables", I would puke. It was that bad.

The nose works super good when you're pregnant. Your sense of smell is very keen . You need to count grams of protein very carefully to make sure the baby can get what it needs to grow. Buy yourself some protein powder and make protein shakes like body builders do. Count grams of protein .
> Eggbeaters web site has an online utility for calculation of protein grams . That's a baseline -for you . Pregnant women need steady good protein .
If you don't want meat then find the other proteins .Beans, nuts, seeds, eggs, Millet with bannanas.
Combine them. See Francis Morre lappe' Diet for a Small Planet Cookbook .
Vegetarian websites can help you here. There are sites for vegetarian women pregnant I think. Steven Gaskins Farm in Tennesee raised a lot of vegetarian kids and their mom's were very healthy too . But you need to count grams of protein -very important. I like Solgar V -75 multivitimins . Take the supplements your MD advises.

definite, i've got examine this. there is micro organism which could stay in chilly temperatures, that can get on the beef, and make you ill. So while pregnant i might take precautions. The cooked turkey you purchase on the keep is high-quality, yet there is a few thing approximately that deli meat it particularly is in all probability suited to stay far flung from.

Meat completely disgusted me too during the first trimester!! At about 13 weeks, I made myself eat a little and now I love it!!! Make sure you get enough protein and iron. Because I did become anemia...not sure if its b/c the meat hating or not!

It has to do with the hormones. My favorite thing is Chicken and I just can't eat it. I am just now eating steak. Give it some time and you might start to want meats again. I think the smells bothered me the most. At 33 weeks I am finally able to eat steaks, pork, and chicken wings but not chicken breast. Enjoy your prengnacy!
