I would say we have a nice home. We have a 2 story with a spiral staircase that is a conversation piece for company. We need new carpet in the back of the house though because that's where one of my dogs decided he was going to punish us by pissing back there. I also have a 6 ft. wooden fence and am having problems with the gates closing, so that needs to be fixed. Other than that, I think we are pretty fortunate to have the home we live in. I am thankful! (Thanksgiving speech...lol)

It's definitely better to go for the fixer upper if the price is the same. You have many more options when it comes time to sell. Manufactured homes definitely depreciate. You don't have much control over that. You could put in a $20K bathroom and it still won't make much of a difference. In a stick-built house on your own lot, you'll get most of that $20K back when you sell. Even if you do nothing, the land should hold onto or increase in value.

I'd say it's a so-so house. We made it four beds and a games room, but it could be five bedrooms if you wanted, and there are three bathrooms. We built our house pretty much by ourselves. There used to be a leak, but I think my dad fixed it. The hardwood is crooked a little bit in the corners and our furnace is broken but it has a really nice layout and is actually pretty nice. Our parlor is my favorite, with our 100 year old piano, yellow paint, and a wood burning fireplace. It's so cozy. And the location is excellent. We have a nice quiet neighborhood, and the cute neighbor kids always come out in the cul-de-sac to play. I love it!

My family used to have a nice house with 5 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, a double garage and apartment above it, a summer house and a bar...but with the crappy summer we had in Britain it got flooded in July. So now we're in a so-so house until nect summer with 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and no bars, summer houses, seperate apartments or garages...But at least we're not homeless :)

I live in a pretty nice 2 bedroom duplex. We put in new carpet before we moved in. It has a nice dining room. The bathroom needs a little work, but it's all good.

2 bedroom condo. Yes, it's nice, but not the nicest. I've seen nicer ones. But I love the view.
