We (and by we I am speaking of my fellow anthropologists) know that Darwin didn't have it completely right (not to mention it wasn't just "his" theory... give Wallace some credit too!)
We have this modified theory of evolution now called the Modern Synthesis. I don't really think it is up for debate this way. Explain to me why doctors are concerned about bacterias that are unresponsive to drugs, or why pests are becoming resistant to pesticides!
Evolution on a small scale (I mean, we're not talking new species here many times!), but there it is! Plain as the nose on your face you silly anti-evolutionists! We aren't condemning your god or gods or invisible pink unicorn or whatever you believe supplies you with your "absolute Truth (with a capital T)," so please stop assuming that we are aetheist heathens because we talk evolution.

ummmm... didn't Darwin come up with that theory in, like, the 1500's or something? that'd be the hoax of a couple centuries back.
I think it's real. and everyone in my church hates me for it, save for about 6 people. oh well. =)

no -- First, there is good evidence to support it, but also, even if it had no merit, it is a theory propounded by a scientist based on evidence and not a "hoax." -- there's no evidence that he was trying to put one over on the public.

The reason its called a theory as opposed to an absolute truth, like say creationism, is that its open to rational debate.

I really dont care for evolution. I dont want to waste my time talking about how we got here. Because no matter how much evidence one can gather, it will always be a theory. I like current science better.

!00,000 bucks and I'll say it with feeling. Otherwise, I would not like to be laughed down in derisive tones by the intelligentsia.

Nope, way too much evidence for it.
Edit:
Creationism is definitely a hoax or at least a poorly cobbled together set of claims that only show how uneducated its proponents are.

could be...that's why it's a 'theory' and not a fact. Who knows if it's really true.
