I told a friend that I'm expecting, I have not spoken to her in a while and all she said was "oh my".

Am I been to sensitive or I guess i should not expect everyone to be happy for me then?

People react in so many different ways. Sometimes it doesn't reflect how they feel about you being pregnant but just how they feel about pregnancy in general. And some people just arent as tactful and sensitive as they should be. The bottom line is, don't let it bother you. You are happy with your news and that is all that matters. It sounds like this isn't a super close friend anyways, so I would just ignore what was said.

I would take offense at first, but then realize that not everyone thinks the same about having children. Don't expect everyone to be happy for you. I have some people I work with that were quite ugly about it when the found out I was expecting!

Good luck and congrats!!

It depends. I was 20 and had een married for almost 3 years when my wife got pregnant. Most of our friends were seriously shocked. But, then again more than a few of them are 30 and still single with no kids, so what can you expect?

the thing is, most people who are shocked couldn't be responsible enough to handle a baby. they're most likely reacting with thinking of thier own situation. Maybe your friend is a bit too inmature for children?

Everyone isn't goin to be happy for u. I have a cousin that I use to talk to everyday & since I told her that I was pregnant we've probably talked like 10 times & I'm 23 weeks. Good luck & just don't worry about it.

It depends on your situation, I guess. Does she have reason to react like that? For example, do you already have a number of kids? Are you a single mom? Are you very young or old? Or, is she simply one of those people who don't have and don't want kids? You'll have to decide if this is tffensive or not. I don't know you or her, so it's hard to say. I'll have to say that it is an odd reaction, though.

If it were an associate that you are not close to I would say no but if you are calling this person a friend then obviously I would be offened cause it is a very happy time in your life. Or maybe she is jealous ....

Don't expect everyone to be happy for you, they might be jealous. But either way, don't let it bug you! Some people just don't show that there excited too.

Dont be offended. Just be happy that your having a baby. Don't let her ruin it for you. I'm sure there are plenty of people in your life who are happy for you. Maybe she is jealous.

She probably wasn't expecting you to say that.

Everyone has a different view of pregnancy. Expect most people who don't have kids to act weird.
