Science in general has become a type of belief system. People take the word of scientists often without questioning them too much - just like few believers in a religion question the elements of their faith. The notion of evolution has also been used to split people into the camps of believers and non-believers - just the way that religion often splits people. People have faith in science in general - just like in religion. Some scientists "preach" and "evangelize" their belief in evolution often with the same close-minded attitude that religious evangelists do. I try to keep a critical eye on all types of belief systems, including those of science and religion. I recommend that you read Gregory Bateson's "Mind and Nature" - he's an anthropologist that writes about science as a belief system. Also, I recommend that you read up on philosophy of science. Sometimes I blog about these at my blog: http://multispective.wordpress.com

It doesn't. Evolution is a scientific theory, where as a religion is a faith based belief. It is like saying gravity is a religion.

It doesn't. Religion is based off of nothing with every bit of evidence against it. The "theory" of evolution has an immense amount of evidence supporting it and no evidence against it.

- Belief by the masses without much knowledge in something merely because its what you were taught to believe. (ask your average person how much they actually know about the Bible or Evolution, they really don't know much. They just know that they are right and you are wrong if your opinion differs).

- Choosing to believe in something that cannot be proven, with unshakeble faith. (Theory of Evolution people, its not proven as a Fact at this point in time.)

Because in order to believe in evolutions does require faith. Evolution has NEVER been proved by science, it is just a theory. I am not saying evolution is incorrect, but it does require faith to believe it is true.

1. It doesn't. It is fact based. It does not require a leaf of faith for it's basic premise.

Only that they are both ways of thought.

One is based on unfounded assumptions, magic, wishful thinking, and nonesense; the other is based on reason and evidence, reality and fact.

Reason is better, 'cause reason works.
