You know, that's a good question. I had him on a fantasy team at the beginning of the year and got so frustrated with all the carries they were giving to Morris (this was before either of them got hurt) especially down by the goal line, that I ended up trading him. I honestly don't know the answer but I'm glad you asked it because I'm curious to see what people have to say.
I know people are talking about him coming off an injury and the passing game working & stuff, but really, they've been splitting his carries to a great extent all year.

Because they know that he is injury-prone and will be lost for the season if he gets more than 20 carries a game. I remember how the Pats fans thought they got the better of the Colts in the draft when they snatched Maroney instead of Addai. Well, look who's laughing now.

He was injured at the start of the season so the Patriots are sensitive about using him, they only activate him when they desperately need to. He hasn't score 1 TD this whole year, while most of the Patriots' other runningbacks have. If he continues to heal fast, then I can predict that the Patriots will primarily activate him come time for the playoffs.

Maroney is good, but he is their only real workhorse back left since Morris is ir. Maroney has had some injuries this season as well, so its not a great idea to run him too much and lose him for later in the year when they may need him. They also use faulk a bit, who is a nice change of pace for maroney.

because they dont have to. they will keep him fresh for the playoffs as long as they are able to. they also dont like him on the goal line as they usually go with Evans there. You sound like someone who drafted him to your fantasy team expecting 1300 yards and 12 tds. I'm sorry for your loss.

because when a team like the patriots are up by 42, the correct offensive call is for Randy Moss on a 30 yard fly pattern ... why run the ball when you can run the score up?

Look around the league and watch all the RBs go down, I think they are saving Maroney for the cold weather and playoff run. Just my take on it.

they have a very potent corps of receviers right now but no one else besides Maroney. I guess they are saving him for 'that' game.
he has just come back from injury too. so they are probably saving him for when the chips are down.

ask yourself why would you want to stop doing somthing that works? I feel that the passing game is doing a great job that the running game is their just to keep the def honest
