Depo Provera Question?

I had a miscarriage, immediately went on the pill after, finished the first month then decided to go on Depo. This was 3 months ago, i scheduled to have my next shot today. I still have not had a period, is this normal?

I was on Depo for a year. I wouldnt get my period until just before I was due for my shot.

However, after I got off the depo shot my period came in the worst way, it stuck around for about 2 months, I had heavy bleeding, clots, VERY intense cramps and it took nearly a year after that for my period to actually regulate itself again.

On top of all that, it took a serious toll on me mentally and emotionally. Once I came off the shot the mood swings went away and my libido came back.

Oh, lets not forget the 50 lbs I gained while I was on it.

I HATED the shot....sure it was nice not to have to worry about getting pregnant and not having a period most of the time but I would have rather had those 2 stressors than all the other grief it caused me.

I was on Depo for 2 years and didn't have a period until 1 year after I came off of it.

Totally normal i was on the depo shot for five years and never had a period and then when i got off of it i still had none for like nine months let me tell you it was great. Enjoy the time off

I'd never recommend depo.

Not having a period is normal, as is bleeding for months at a time.

Yup. That is totally normal for Depo.

I haven't had a period for three years. I've only gained 10 pounds in three years. That's not really bad.
