My husband has this 1/2 cm diameter round growth at the side of his nose, and it has tiny bubbles on top... it looks like a wart, and I have been applying crushed garlic... any idea what it could be, and what to do about it....
It has been there for at least a year....

The nose is a common location for small skin cancers that are very treatable but you need a doctor.

See your doctor to determine if it is a wart or something else. Warts can be treated with over the counter remedies that your doctor will recommend, other lesions may need other treatment.

I just read this in the paper yesterday. This lady's young granddaughter had been to the dermatologist many times for some warts on her knee. Nothing worked. Each time the warts came back worse until they looked like cauliflower. The girl's mother went so some seminar and the presenter mentioned he treated his son's warts with tea tree oil. So she figured it wouldn't hurt to try this method as they'd already spent over a grand on other treatments that didn't work. After applying it for a short period of time, the warts disappeared with no discomfort or scarring.

If this is a wart then apple cider vinegar can be used to get rid of it.
Try this home remedy for one week:

Each night before going to bed soak a cotton ball in apple cider vinegar, apply it to the wart and then hold it in place with a band-aid. Leave it on all night, or if you like, 24 hours a day but change the soaked cotton and band-aid each evening for a week.

The wart will swell and throb a little as it reacts with the vinegar and then start to turn black (usually with a white ring around it) within the first two days and after a week or two will fall off by itself.

Check the reference below for many recent testimonials.

This does not sound like a wart, but rather some other kind of growth that requires immediate medical attention.

As another poster said, try to reduce the amount of refined sugar and flour you are eating. You may want to cut it out completely for a couple of weeks to help your body recover more quickly. It is not the sugar per se causing the acne, but if you eat a high carbohydrate meal your body produces a lot of insulin, and along with it other hormones are released including testosterone, and that can cause excess sebum production and skin aging which contribute to acne. Just google "sugar and acne" and you can read all about what is happening in your body. So, if you must eat something with a lot of sugar (like soda or cake) or white flour, try to have it with complex carbohydrates like vegetables, fruits, or whole grains because they will help lessen the surge of insulin associated with highly refined carbs. The rest of your body will thank you too! After 4 dermatologists, several medications (including accutane) and daily cleansing, this has been the most effective treatment I have used.

there are many old wives tales to get rid of warts - rub with a cut potato or a piece of bacon?? you can also tie a bit of horse hair tight around it and it is supposed to drop of but I ve heard that a wart runs a cycle and it doesn't matter what you do it will go in its own time

Make sure that it is not some tumour that needs attention.
If it is a wart, I have been told that the sap from the end of a croton leaf freshly detached from a branch clears it if applied daily.
