Area of Triangle = 1/2 * Base * Height

1) A(Triangle) = 1/2 * 8 * 7 = 28cms^2

2) A(Triangle) = 1/2 * 50 * 7 = 175mms^2

Hope that helps

a) Use cosine rule to find angle DEF. Let's call that angle "e", then DF^2 = DE^2 + EF^2 - 2(DE)(EF) cos e b) Area = (DE)(EF) sin e /2 OR if you let a = DE, b = EF, c = DF and call s = (a + b + c)/2 (the semi-circumference), than Area = sqrt (s (s-a) (s-b) (s-c) ) Either way should yield the same exact answer.
