That was a preliminary hearing not a trial. The purpose of the hearing is to determine if the district attorney has enough evidence to proceed to trial. That is the procedure used in states that do not have the grand jury system.

Nothing. He appeared at a preliminary hearing before a Justice of the Peace in Clark County Nevada to determine if the charges against him warranted a trial. That Justice of the Peace, Joseph Bonaventure, determined there was enough probable cause to send the matter to a trial. Mister Simpson will now appear before a District Court Judge, Jackie Glass, in what is called an arraignment. At that arraignment the charges against him will be read and he will be asked to enter a plea of guilty or not guilty to each count in the indictment. That arraignment will take place on November 28th in Las Vegas at the Regional Justice Center.
The charges against him are armed robbery and kidnapping. Armed robbery involves the use of a deadly weapon in the commission of a crime. Under Nevada law the sentence is automatically doubled. Kidnapping carries a sentence of life without parole in Nevada.

He hasnt been tried yet. Yesterday the Judge refused to throw out any of the charges and he will be tried on 12 counts. Kidnapping being the most serious. Assault, verbal threats, and many other lesser counts. He basically wanted alot of his crap back that he sold to pay off the Goldmans and decided to bust into a Las Vegas hotel room and stong arm a couple of Sports Memorabelia dealers.

he was convicted in civil court for wrongful death because they had access to evidence that was not available to the jury in his criminal case. as a result, he has spent the last few years hiding his wealth that he was supposed to forfeit. he attempted to steal at gunpoint, some of these items from a collector who was staying in a Vegas hotel.
he went to preliminary hearing, a few days ago, concerning the grand theft, kidnapping and assault charges stemming from this attempted theft. The judge found grounds to commence with that trial on all charges and now an actual trial date will be set
