ok i can download the MAME emulator on my macbook i just need to know how to play the games on it

You need to download the roms now.
Once you down load a rom you place it im the MAME folder in the roms folder. KEEP THE ROM ***ZIPPED***!!!!
Each game requires at least one rom.

To run mame, I use command prompt. I'll normally look for command prompt in the search bar, make a copy of it, then paste the copy into a folder with MAME. As for the ROMS, I put them in a folder inside the folder with MAME, and simple title the folder "Roms"... Then when I want to play a game, I open command prompt, then type in "mame namehere". You generally want to use the name that the folder is by default, and that should work.
