It depends on the level you want to teach (primary, K-6) or secondary (7-12), and the State in which you want to teach. You may also seek info from professional organizations for teaching in your state (FFI http://www.nea.org/aboutnea/affiliates.html)
Start by contacting your State's Dept of Education, and search for Teacher Credentialing. The regulations / requirements vary by state, so getting trained and licensed in one state does not qualify you automatically to teach for pay in another state. Also, in some States, the curriculum varies from one college/university to another (they don't all require exactly the same courses).
Very often, counting the practice teaching (if required), it could take about 5 years to complete a teacher certification program. Many states also have licensing exams you must take before you can teach for pay in the classroom.

Depending on the college, you can sometimes get a preliminary credential with just your typical 4 years of college. Other programs add an additional year in order to complete all of the coursework. If you only take 13 hrs/semester it may take you 5-6 years, with no summers.

If she is going in with a no nonsense mindset then she could have little difficulty with any of her instructions. i don't think of that this is honest no person might take her heavily by using fact of her age. there are numerous of professors accessible that are plenty older than their scholars and the scholars do not take them heavily. In Australia, a Bachelor of Teaching is three years. A Bachelor of Education is four.
B. Teach is only offered and recognised in NSW though.
