Hi, again

w/3 + 2/5 = 1/15

w/3 = 1/15 - 2/5

w/3 = -1/3

3w = -3

w = -3/3

w = -1
---------¦

______________________________________________

Now it replaces "w"

-1/3 + 2/5 = 1/15

1/15 = 1/15.... it GOOD!

OK

w/3 + 2/5 = 1/15; first get all the same denominators
5w/15 + 6/15 = 1/15; now get the w factor by itself
5w/15 = -5/15; multiply by 15
5w = -5 ; divide by 5
w = -1.

Check:
-1/3 + 2/5 = 1/15??
-5/15 + 6/15 = 1/15 ??
1/15 = 1/15 YES!!

Hope that helps.

Find common denominator between 2/5 and 1/15.
2/5 = 6/15

1/15 - 6/15 = -5/15

-5/15 = w/3

-5/15 = 5w/15

5w = -5

w = -1

make the first two fractions over 15. This would make it 5W/15 + 6/15 = 1/15. Then subtract 6/15 from both sides. 5W/15 = -5/15. You can ignore the bottom parts of the fractions becasue they are equal (5w=-5) and then you divide by five to get W=-1 (NEGATIVE one).
