what kind of lock is this? Its got a circular keyhole and....?

its circular and has bolts that go directly into it. Turned with a round key that fits in the indents. It's just a ring, the center is filled in.

It's called a barrel lock.

Sounds like a barrel lock. This is mostly used to prevent picking. Many vending machines have the same type locking mechanism on them.
