Sure just explain about the things Ebay has to offer for on site selling, like ebay stores and pro stores, highlighted ads and gift icons to start.
Then move to off site advertising for selling items.
Like posting the items that are for sale on ebay in Online Classifieds like http://www.caklassifieds.com Free ads space
They can always list there items other places and put the link to there item in the ad.
Thats a start You should get good responses if you explain on site ebay prep for selling and off site prep for selling on ebay.
I sell on ebay and I never just leave it to ebay you can always get more bids when you advertise your ebay listing on other sites. Not all sites allow it but http://www.caklassifieds.com does allow it!
