I complain a lot about both parties I consider myself a Socialist or a Green, and I would support Democrats like Kucinich,Gravel and maybe Obama.Otherwise the Democrats and Republicans are in bed to together. They support Wiretapping,CIA abuses, and funding for the Iraq War.

I'm an independent, although I usually vote for progressive candidates. In the past I've voted for Democrats and Greens and Independents. I complain where complaining is due. The way our elections system is set up is the biggest cause for concern. Then we can go about fixing the duopoly the major parties have on control of this government.

Being in Louisiana, I have had the pleasure of remaining a registered independent, thanks to our open primary system. since that is ending, I will have to declare a party. I will join the Republicans. Both parties promise more than they can deliver, and both promise things that I feel are important for our country. I just tend to side with the conservative approach to gov't more often.

An aside to KR...belonging to a party does not mean you surrender your ability to think independently. In most cases its so that you can vote in the primary and have a say in which candidate makes it to the general election.

I am independant, have voted for Democrats, Republicans, and 3rd party candidates in the past. I complain about both partys relatively equally.

It really just depends on the election who I vote for. Next Presidential election I am leaning Republican, mainly because I am afraid the Democrats will look to raise my taxes.

I don't have any faith in any of the candidates that they can fix our situation in Iraq, so it has become less of an issue the more politicians talk about it.

Democrat. I, too, complain about both parties.

To the one who was leaning Republican because he was afraid the Dem's would raise taxes:

Higher taxes are inevitable. The same with higher prices for just about everything. When was the last time you could buy a loaf of bread for 73 cents? Or a house for $12,000?

I think (mind you I am just saying "think"), I would rather pay higher taxes instead of having a national debt that is getting so huge that our great-grandchildren will still be paying it off when they become grandparents because of a president who wouldn't raise taxes to pay for his war.

There is a time when higher taxes are necessary.

I am a Republican, but I have voted for some Democrats in elections.

I was raised as a Republican, I am registered as a republican, and I mostly vote as a republican.

But, I will not vote a straight ticket just because of the party, earn my vote.

And I have plenty of complaints about both parties but it seems like the Dem's sure win in the complaint department. Hands down.

Independent but leaning Republican. I tend to think free of the party line on some issues and feel that a candidate should be viewed clearly across a wide array and issues and choose the one that strikes the right balance. I view those who blindly adhere to one party or another as willingly ignoring those positions which do not reflect their preferences.

Definately neither. And yes I complain about both as they have had enough chances to impress us and I'm very less than impressed. I'd like a party that knows what it's like to live an average American life and takes seriously that the majority of their paychecks still come from taxpaying citizens and not corporations, and make their decisions based on this fact. I'm sick of being lied to and made a fool out of when you do think they maybe are telling the truth, like the weapons of mass destruction, my ***! Greedy GD liars is all they are, we NEED a new party based on principles they are willing to uphold for once!

before 2000, i was neither; however, since bush has been in office, I slowly started moving left. Now, i'm at the point where i don't care who the next president is, as long as he/she is a democrat.
