Of course there were. There's always been interracial couples. They just didn't parade around back then because it wasn't socially acceptable- as was homosexuality. Today people are still racist and don't approve but it's taboo to say anything- just like seeing homosexuals in public holding hands, etc. They're all over the tv media so people don't even bat an eye. People still don't like it but there's enough taboo on speaking up now being it interracial or homosexual couples. In a couple of years, it'll probably be acceptable for a 40 year old man to legally have an underage girl as a girlfriend (instead of it being called child molestation). It all depends on what society will allow, will tolerate, and won't speak up about.

Yes there are. In my country, it is a very open item, even way back during first world war. I'm in the Philippines by the way.

yes there were....Lynda Carter (wonder woman) was mix with mexican and irish
Pam Grier was native american indian and black
so there had to be interracial couples for them to be born

for some reason people only see interacial as ... black and white
but interacial is italian and german mexican and puerto rican, chinese and korean.
of course interacial couples has been around for a verrry long time

Nor people just living together, nor people just hanging and having casual sex.
