Yes, more than once, leading me to be a firm believer in the old adage "Be careful what you wish for lest your wish comes true"
It is the act of longing for something leads us to idealize that which we long for. The more we long for it, the more idealized it can become.
I think it is very common in people who fall in love based on physical appearance only. Man sees woman from afar and is smitten. Man pursues womwn and finally meets her. When they actually get to know the person they may in fact not like them at all, or find out they are completely incompatible - and suddenly, they may not appear so attractive.
It is also the source of "buyer's remorse". Media advertising can be so powerful that when we absolutely have to have a certain car, or a certain pair of jeans or an iPod or whatever, we are hardly ever 100% satisfied.
It is an interesting (if somewhat predictable) characteristic of human behaviour

All the time!
But I do believe there is something wrong with me…
when I was a litte gril I used to always want to take lessons (piano, karate, guitar, swimming)… after having being enrolled and byuing everything for it, I would lose interest
Im still like that but as an adult… it’s wrong… you can’t just fight for a relationship and fight and fight and when you finally get it… lose all interest and realize that He/ She wasn’t the one….
Of course as the saying goes you don’t know what you have till it’s gone so I focus on that
But with my job is the same thing… I want it so bad, I get it, I hate it… HELP???
