Arrogance & Ignorance!!! What a combination. There is nothing second rate about these countries. Somehow, a lot of Americans still believe that the rest of the world travels on the backs of donkeys over dirt roads. Both of these countries have national health care, their people do not work as many hours a week as Americans, they produce some of the finest automobiles made, their children are better educated than ours, they eat better & they live longer.Their currency is worth more than ours & they are not as far in debt!! Better take a good look at America! We are the ones slipping into "second rate", much to my sorrow.

Have you ever been to Europe? Probably not. Ever had a conversation or been introduced to some from either of the countries you so readily spew hate towards? Doubt it. So just what is your background in making such a simple-minded statement?
By the way, I have been to those countries and others and have met their people. And you know what I've found...that their people are much like our people. Some are good and intelligent with good points, and many others are slow and absurd much like yourself. I'd be willing to be you would find many people of your same ilk in France and Germany. Have a nice day and maybe someday read a book and improve your own intelligence.

Seeming as the US is a third-rate, warmongering,land grabbing country totally devoid of any respect for other countries borders, what makes you think France or Germany actually WANT Americans to travel there.

Because most people that are going to another country for vacation are looking to get away from the things they know. It is always interesting to go places and see the history and culture.
And what is your problem? I love America but it doesn't mean that I won't ever travel because I think it's the greatest and nothing else is good enough.

In case you haven't noticed those countries economies and the Euro are making America into a third world debtor nation.

Since they are our allies... why not? We have a huge Army base in Germany. During the Gulf War, many injured soldiers were taken there.

I am for example not in the US (I am a resident) because in my high tech field, there is nothing in America and it´s backwards...
