Remember when the USSR was called "the Evil Empire" because they dare do such things as invade other countrys, hide prisons, torture its enemy, spy on citizens while their leaders thumbed their nose at those who disagreed?

Not so sure anymore, if that is why the neocons called the USSR evil.
I think if they were a christian nation making the lives of everyone around them brighter, rainbows every ten feet in the sky, daisies and tulips as far as the eye can see, and its citizens had feathered wings on their backs an halos on their heads, they would have still been considered "evil" by necons just for their socialist political/economic structure.

Very well put. I love the "if you don't see how circumventing the constitution and system of checks and balances in our government, and invading a country with no justification is perfectly ok and if you don't like it you must hate America and want the terrorists to win" defense.

no...but i do remember when they were seen as the evil empire because they were communist...not only entailing all that you mentioned above....but that they tried to spread communism...to their PEACEFUL nieghbors...
if you are trying to imply some sort of fault to america...then you must be a muslim or a terrorist....cause america only invades evil countries, tortures those that are guilty already, and spys on those that are possibly terrorists....and the government thumbs it nose at idiots and tree huggers such as yourself that would love to see this country go down the tubes...
