Positive. A negative fraction = a negative number, so 2 negatives = a positive.

For instance...

-4/5 divided by -2/3

Let's take it step by step.

First off, the only thing a fraction really is is a division problem. Negative 4 divided by 5 is -x (x = whatever that number is)(it is not -4/-5 because then the fraction would be positive)

Do the same thing with -2/3

Now you have -x and -y. When you divide two negatives, it is positive.

If you're in honors Algebra, then one of your teachers believes that you have the potential to able to handle it. You might want to start thinking better of your abilities in math. —————————————————————————————————————— Your question is essentially, how do I divide by a fraction ... The answer, is ... invert and multiply. 41. -5 divided by -5/3 ... is -5 times -3/5 ... and that's +3 because negative times negative is positive and the 5's cancel when multiplying 5 times 3/5.                                                 ANSWER                                                        3 I'll leave the other two problems for you to do. Multiplying two negative numbers gives a positive.

Dividing by a fraction (say x/y) is the same as multiplying by the inverse of that fraction (y/x -- as long as x is not equal to 0).

Therefore, dividing a negative fraction by a negative fraction is the same as multiplying two negative numbers: gives a positive.

OK - it is positive:

Easy way to see this is if you have 2/2 you know that equals +1. Also, if you has -2/-2 that would also be +1. So : -1/2 / -1/2 = +1.

Hope that helps.
