What i what to know is if it is possible and if it will work to buy a new windows based laptop and completly erase the windows software buy mac os 10 install it and use the laptop as a mac.

Yes, however to do this you will have to use a hacked version of the Mac OS. You cannot simply buy a laptop, insert the OS 10 CD and expect it to work.

I do not recommend trying this at home, as it requires you to obtain hacked software which could possibly bring with it a slew of things you don't want -- viruses, etc. There was a Wired article awhile back on this which I have linked below.

Yes, it is possible, but you need the x86 architecture version of OS X (a hacked version with the correct patches, and a cpu capable of sse3 instructions (or sse2 with a patch, but it will be slow).

However, hardware compatibility would be an issue. Your network card may or may not work, along with pretty much everything else in the laptop.

No, OS X is built on different architecture and won't work on a PC built to run Windows.
