Self-Made man. Will put the needs of our fragile middle-class at the top again at a time when the average man between the age of 30-45 makes less with a college degree than his father did without one! He's definitely the right man for the job. If not, tell me why.... (real answers, not just emotional fluff)

This is an "Agree or Disagree" question.

Hedgehog. President Bush pays 500$ for a haircut. Get real. That's "emotion" not anything.

Well the world. (at least all the countries with strong social programs... England, Germany, Canada, Norway) are passing us up economically. Maybe we need to take care of home for a bit.

Today the median income for a fully employed male is $41,670 per year (all numbers are inflation-adjusted to 2004 dollars)—nearly $800 less than his counterpart of a generation ago.

I agree completely.

I disagree for two main reasons.

First and foremost, he's never going to get the chance. I think his popularity is just under "none of the above", even among Democrat voters.

Second, I don't believe that a person whose rags-to-riches story is how he made a fortune on Personal Injury legal fees has the understanding necessary to promote the well-being of the Middle Class. A self-made millionaire who produced a product or line of products (Bill Gates, for example) or who found a better way to be the middleman in retailing (Sam Walton, for example) might know what the Middle Class is all about, but I really don't think that someone that gets paid contingency fees for getting settlements for wrongful injuries to people has any basis for understanding the problems of the Middle Class in terms of taxes, government red tape, IRS reporting, business taxes, business liability, producing a product, meeting a payroll, and all the things a real person has to go through.

Fact is, he never produced ANYTHING. What could he possibly know about the Middle Class? A street vendor that sells hot dogs on Wall Street would be more qualified to understand the free market than a PI lawyer.

disagree.. he's as bad as Ron Paul... all the domestic issues in the world do not trump the security of our nation and our allies... we cannot turn ourself into a lockbox and throw away the key.. the world will crumble around us, and it will be inevitable that we would be engaged in a rush to fix it.. but, by then, it would be too late. our social, economic, and political ties with the world over would suffer to the point of non-repair.. even more so than people think it is now.. the greatest liberty a human being has is LIFE... and we must do everything.. and i mean EVERYTHING.. in our power to protect that. God help us if a democrat takes the White House.. wake up people!

not to mention, btw, Edwards is in bed with the Pharm. companies.. one of the worst.. do we want that?

germany and others passing us economically? well, that's a little misleading.. first of all, those nations had no where to go but up.. and who do you think helped those nations get to where they are? that's right, the US.. and do you know what would take care of ANY nation on earth, be it the richest nation or the poorest nation on earth? islamic fundamentalism... IF the US were to step down from the lead in this fight...

the middle class has moved up, not down. Get your facts straight. There are more high paying jobs in this country than ever before. Get an education and grab one!

BE SURE TO WATCH THIS VIDEO FROM 60 MINUTES BEFORE YOU GIVE ME THE THUMBS DOWN. IT'S NOT FROM FOX! it's getting tiring listening to all the rhetoric from the Left. You love to cite statistics, so here are the FACTS!

Did you read your own article? The average male is making $800 less with inflation than a generation ago, but the second income makes this generation enormously more wealthy (incl inflation), and the price of foods and goods is WAY DOWN compared to a generation ago.

I do Agree, If you look at the Zaggby ( did I spell that right) Polls he is the only Dem that beats every Rep in a general election. Hillary does not, yet the corporatist media keeps saying she is the for runner. I wonder why that is? Maybe they want her to be the forerunner. She would be the easiest one to beat so that why they want her to be the Dem. Its hard to attack Edwards in a way that moves people but Hillary stirs people emotions in a negative way.

Joe Biden is my pick but I will support any Dem that gets the pick over any of the Repube's

I'll tell you why John Edwards is not the man for the job...because he pays $500 for a haircut. Get real. If you really think that rich pretty boy cares about anyone other then himself you're sadly mistaken. He is one of the most shallow, self obsorbed people from either party running.

John edwards has a better chance of starting a show with kucinich about how were all going to die from aliens one day. Come on!!! I got a solution for the braodway strikes going on, bring out a projector and throw on some CNN!!!

No, he can't do that. Only the people can become great Americans again. But, considering the level of self centered, gluttonous, sleazy people around, that probably won't happen.

Edwards has made his fortune suing productive people while he himself has produced nothing. Tour take on the economy is false, college grads make a whole lot more money than did our fathers. Edward's only solution is more government, higher taxes, and less personal choice. Leftists like him never produce anything

I agree that any President has a chance to make this country even greater than it already is. Whether or not Edwards has the vision or the capability to do so remains to be seen.

I think he is a great candidate. I just moved to north carolina though, and not many citizens have great things to say about him, so it makes me doubt him. I do think he has a chance if Hillary has a little hickup, Edwards can pull through.
