I get it all the time. I'm always told things like "your beautiful for a black girl" which is 10x times wrost than hearing your a beautiful black girl. Not everyone says this to be racist though. Alot of people don't realize how offensive it is because they see it as giving you a compliment that they'd give anyone. But if it's a woman of another race, they would simple say she is a beautiful woman WITHOUT adding her race in the equation.
Saying to someone...you are pretty "for a black girl". Is like saying that black people are ugly and you by suprise just happen to be a pretty one. It is very offensive. My boyfriend (who is white) used to say it all the time during the first few months in our relationship. He'd always tell me you are (smart, beautiful, itelligent, etc) black girl. Too him, he was only giving me his honest opinion about me. And I never got mad at him or confronted him about it, because I know that he's not racist and means no harm by saying it. So I just think that most whites are insensetive about race. (Mainly because they never really had to deal with being discriminated against. Being white is never a problem. Still I say that not everyone is racist from making this seperation. Some people just need to learn to choose their way of words wisely.

Well I my self have never said you are a beautiful black woman, when I give someone a complement I assume they know what color they are lol. Also though if its so rude to say then why do some black women always feel the need to say what a beautiful BLACK woman they are? Ive seen plenty of black women do this on TV and also in person.

I don't know why people like to pretend this doesn't exist. When it comes to standards of beauty in this society, black women are always at the bottom of the barrel. We don't have the pale skin, the long, straight hair, or the dainty features that most cultures consider appealing in women.
This is why when there is a black person who, despite the current standards of beauty, stands out as a beautiful woman, people feel that they need to point out that she is a beautiful BLACK woman and not just a beautiful WOMAN. There's a disconnect there that isn't going away anytime soon.

I don't think I have ever said that but I have said that black woman are beautiful. And they are. I personally think that white people are unattractive even though I am white. I think black woman, followed by asian, are the most beautiful. Sorry if that offends you.

On the contrary, I have never been told by a non-black person that I am a 'beautiful black girl' or that I am 'too pretty for a black girl'. Usaully its 'you are such a beautiful girl',' you are very pretty' or I even get called 'miss beautiful' or 'beautiful' sometimes........ oh and mostly its by white people, including my boyfriend.
Anyway, I think its wrong to instigate a person's race before actually giving them a compliment on their beauty.
People giving me thumbs down must hate my reality..... sorry but that is just the way it is fools.

Lady, a beautiful woman is just that. A beautiful flower is a beautiful flower -- both are eye candy.

I was thinking about it a lot, and I wouldnt say that. i will call you beautiful girl.
btw Cloz got it right .. speaking to a third person I would use the colour of the skin as a very descriptive feature of yours, with no racial intentions. at least to the point when human skins shades are awarded 256 greys or whatever i would try to describe you using the proper grey shade, federal standard number, etc.

Any person who mentions colour before they can give a compliment is a racist person who has been brainwashed into thinking that the said colour is ugly.
There are ugly and beautiful in all races....We as black people realise that because we are not racist.
We might be prejudice but not racist.
