I consider myself young to be thinking about child-bearing and the like, but for you, do you wish that you'd be able to bear and raise a child? Or that technology would be able to give you teh chance to conceive a child by biological means?

It might be possible for trans women to consider pregnancy in a decade or two, at least for those able to afford advanced reproductive medicine.

The immune suppression drugs transplant patients must be on are now advanced enough that recipients of organ transplants can safely become pregnant. And uterine transplants are past testing, and are now just starting to be performed for humans. A few have been done now, with limite success, but the problems are mostly to do with re-establishing healthy bloodflow - a technical problem that will probably be solved relatively soon. The recipient of such a transplant would have to deliver via C-section, but there's no medical reason why trans women wouldn't be able to have the procedure and carry a child to term.

Of course, trans women would also require an egg donar, or transplanted ovarian tissue, but lots of women use egg donars.

And I know many trans women wouldn't have the resources available for it, but the ideal situation for such a transplant would be a living donor whom the recipient is related to - ie, a woman who is finished having children or or doesn't need/want to have them, who donates her uterus to a close relative (their sibling, child, cousin). A bit like how many kidney transplants are done, and like how a lot of egg donation is done. In such a case, a trans woman could give birth to a child she is genetically related to.

I'm 20 and I would love to be able to bear a child in a couple years. I would even love to just be able to have kids even if they weren't biologically mine. I just want to be able to raise kids really.

It depends on what type of transwoman you are talking about. Transsexuals (like myself) would love to be able to bear children. We want to experience everything that a woman does. Most crossdressers I know just like wearing women's clothes and don't actually want to be women.

I long ago resigned myself to the knowledge that I will never be able to bear a child of my own.
It still hurts, though.

I think some of them think about it, but a vast majority are simply concerned with being passable and living the role more than anything else.
