I received a letter in the mail from "International Lotto Commission" informing me I had been chosen to win 615,810,00 amount of money. The attached page asked me to fill out information to receive this money to my bank or to receive by check. If you don't give bank information, you are to submit copy of your driver's license, etc. by email or fax. No return address. Please be warned about this.

There is also another site that on here called "myhomerewards" that will bill your credit card without your knowledge.

Have you received any of these things or had something like this happen to you? If so, please report it immediately.

We all need to look out for each other. So, the question is, Do you receive or have you received something like this in the mail? If so, beware, please.

Thanks for answering so far. This was my first "lotto" letter It is amazing how many fall for it. It supposedly came from Spain. We are also warned to keep it strictly from the public. LOL

I would never had opened this if I got it in email and I don't think any of you would have either, but is frightens me to think that some seniors are receiving them in the snail mail.

I haven't gotten any such thing in the mail, but I get them in email all of the time. There has been an ad on TV about this very thing. You do a good service by warning seniors about this type of scam. I can't believe people fall for this stuff. Thanks again.

I have received several similar Emails. I just mark them as spam so all others will be blocked. I agree with you, we should all be on guard to any such Emails. I practice the old saying " If it sounds to good to be true, it probably is "
Thank you.

...and there are those Nigerian bankers who are holding money for me, the Irish Lottery(?), xtians who will pray for me if I send a donation (I am a Pagan), etc. I find these offers wildly amusing. I delete them on the Spam box but many new ones come sneaking in everyday. There are old folks around here who believe this stuff.

There are thousands of scams on the internet and in the mail.

What surprises me is how many people actually fall for them. Unbelievable.

Anyone can check these things by Googling "scams" ..... there are many websites and list after list of scams....including the one to which you refer.

They prey on the suckers and the greedy.

I get these all the time. All scram. Delete, delete, delete.
Just remember the old adages, You can't get something for nothing and if it seems to good to be true, it's not true. There are thousands of these phony emails everyday in someones mailbox.

Yes, I've gotten them. If I get anything from someone I don't know I immediately delete it.You should never even open them. If I get these in the mail, I throw them away. This is a good reminder to all, thanks.

I have my email set so this stuff is deleted upon receipt. And never have to deal with them. Once in a great while one makes it through and I hit spam and poof gone.

I have never gotten one but they are on the news all the time here. I don't understand why people prey on people but reality is you can't trust as much any more and I find that sad.
Good avice to repoet it and not ignore it.
