Bush gets more criticizm just because he is the sitting president. There are still a lot of pepople who aren't discussing the upcoming election yet. So as we get closer and closer there will be more scrutiny of the current presidential candidates.
And Hillary is not only bashed because she is a woman, she is bashed for numerous reasons.

Bush is definitely the target of more irrational hatred. However disagreement or concern or even downright fear of his policies may not be irrational.
Concern about Hillary's qualifications to lead our nation may not be irrational either but since she has not even been nominated yet I would consider hatred towards her fairly irrational.
We really need to learn how to view politics with a little less passion and a little more rationality. We have been at this for over 200 years and we still act like European Soccer fans.

I need to imagine them as job applicants at an interview. Let's also imagine their resumes are blank and we interviewers have no idea who they 'really' are. Now what would we say about them after they would leave the room? George: He seems to be a down-to-earth guy, likeable, easy to get along with, a team player. If our company would be in a no-brainer business (e.g. FMCG, raw materials, automotive) and the overwhelming majority of our buyers males, we would hire him for sales. If he proves himself, he would have the potential to become head of sales someday. Hilary: She is goal-orientated, knows what she wants and is working hard to get there. A convincing talker, demands respect. Upper management material, probably strategic development, HR (or given her actual background, legal dept). If she proves herself she could become CEO. *** George has already proven his sales skills, hasn't he? The question now is if Hilary has proven herself enough to be promoted to CEO, or if there isn't a better candidate for that position.

Hillary by far. After all, Bush has been President for 7 years and there are plenty of things to despise him for. It is completely rational to hate Bush. Hillary has only served as NY senator and she is hugely popular in that state.
The average far right neocon stooge hates her but can't really articulate why, other than fulminating insane nonsense..like she killed Vince Foster or resorting to the standard ad hominem attacks.

It seems to be pretty equal, though lately the Hillary Haters have bumped up their yammering so high only dogs can hear it. The attacks against Hillary are more vicious and vapid, the attacks against Bush are more defendable.

I see Hillary as a target of irrational hate.
Bush on the other hand started a War So that opens the door for rational dislike.

I have no sympathy for either of them. They are just alike, only looking out for them self at everyone else's expense. I get a real laugh when someone defends Hillery by saying 'at least she is better than Bush'! How is that a defense?! She is no better, in fact maybe worse, but being better than him puts one at the level of Sadam.

I think Hillary haters are more vicious. Liberals hate Bush for being a horrible president, we wouldn't care about him if he were just a candidate. But conservatives hate Hillary for no reason at all. They don't say "She's been a horrible senator" they just say "She's a Clinton so we hate her."
It's different to bash the man who has all the power in your country than to bash a random senator who hasn't even been chosen to run for her party yet.
