WOW. Congrats on writing a book. I wish the hardest part of writing a book for me was choosing the names of the characters! I usually just picture what my character looks like and then see what the first name I think of based on what the character looks like is, and decide from there.

A more scientific approach would be to look on the internet for name associations. You know, like at the beginning of some baby books that have the stereotypes of what people automatically thing a certain named person will be like. I'd try that.

I would pick a name that says feminine, but tough for the mother. How about Kate, Jane, Tess, Jenna, Chris, Zoe, Lu (short for Louisa, Luella, or something more feminine) or Willa.

For the child, you could go with the obvious but still fun Hope.

How about: Jadyn, Ella, Emma, Leah, Hannah, Gemma, Naomi, Brynn, Callie for a girl?

For a boy: Jake, Sam, Dean, Peter, Zach, Will, Victor, George, Jack, or Henry?

ETA: I went to behindthename.com and searched "special" "unique" "different" The best names that came out of there were "Brielle" "Mercia" "Berezi" "Farid"

The woman - your main character - is in her 20s/early 30s, right? It's unlikely her name would be Rose. I'd consider using Jill. It's short and sensible, and you can imagine a Jill fighting for something ... but maybe never imagining that she'd need to do so.

If not Jill, Allison might work. And for writing dialogue, you can shorten it to Ali to show she's talking with a friend.

For her daughter, it depends on *who* your heroine really is ... if she's smart, well-educated and a little quirky, I'd go with Avery. If she's more street-wise, I'd call the baby Jada. And if she's actually kind of a girlie girl who gets her eyes opened by this whole ordeal, then call her daughter Celeste or Cecily. The last one might be better because she can nickname her little girl Ceci, which is sweet, too.

Good luck!

you may want to continually have the identify be the call of your significant personality. Or imagine of something your personality bargains with on a prevalent foundation. Your identify would not unavoidably must be "catchy" a variety of of prominent and classic literature hasn't had a catchy identify reason it really is the content textile of the e book that makes it a bestseller. Sorry i'd probable ought to study the e book to imagine up a good identify.
