Not really unless you had a thorough exam and there were still traces of HcG (pregnancy hormone) in your blood.

Many women mistake an early miscarriage for a period. And even a period can be heavy and painful...like a miscarriage. Also, many women pass clots and tissue with a heavy period, but that doesn't mean it was a miscarriage. Some also get lightheaded and dizzy from blood loss with a period, but that doesn't mean it was a miscarriage.

If you believe you just miscarried recently, you could take an blood test to see if there is hcg in the blood -- this is a pregnancy hormone...if you have it in your blood then you were pregnant recently (although things like fertility drugs can cause you to test positive for hcg even if you haven't been pregnant). The truth is that as many as 50 percent of pregnancies end in miscarriage before a woman even knows she's pregnant -- she just gets a late and/or heavy period.

If it happened more than 6 weeks ago, then no, you can't tell unless you had a pregnancy that went nearly full term (then doctors can tell that you've been pregnant by examining you). However, losing a baby that late is not a miscarriage but rather a stillbirth.

I hope you didn't have one and I wish you a lot of luck.

Without extensive tests when it just happened, not really. Many women think they are just having a period when they have an early miscarriage.
